The KDFWR has dropped the size limit on Striped Bass at Lake Cumberland to 22 inches, down from the previous minimum harvest length of 24 inches. The creel limit remains unchanged at two fish per day. The KDFWR reported there is a high number of Striped Bass currently in the lake between the range of 20 and 24 inches. At the old limit of 24 inches, many of these are caught and released, with some of them dying due to stress. The KDFWR's Jeff Ross said , "If you are going to lose the fish, then we prefer that people get some use out of them. We are trying to make the best of a bad situation."

Good decision by Fish and Wildlife especially with the heat this summer. Hope the river is doing OK, as the trout will have a difficult time of it if the water temps in the river get too high.
